Tales from the Supplementary Information: Ancestry Change in Chalcolithic–Early Bronze Age Britain Was Gradual with Varied Kinship Organization

چکیده
Large-scale archaeogenetic studies of people from prehistoric Europe tend to be broad in scope and difficult resolve with local archaeologies. However, accompanying supplementary information often contains useful finer-scale that is comprehensible without specific genetics expertise. Here, we show how undiscussed details provided aDNA papers can provide crucial insight into patterns ancestry change genetic relatedness the past by examining relating a >90 per cent shift populations who inhabited Chalcolithic Early Bronze Age Britain ( c . 2450–1600 bc ). While this outcome was certainly influenced movements communities carrying novel ancestries continental Europe, it unlikely have been simple, rapid process, potentially taking up 16 generations, during which time there evidence for synchronous persistence groups largely descended Neolithic populations. Insofar as relationships assumed had social meaning, identification relatives cemeteries suggests paternal were important, but substantial variability ties referenced little strict patrilocality or female exogamy.

متن کاملThe “Man with Serpents” revisited. On a Figurated Pin from the Bronze Age Site of Shahdad (Kerman, Iran)
We discuss a figured pin from Shahdad, previously well known but published with a partial and unsatisfactory drawing. More detailed observations and a new, more realistic recording of this important artifact reconsider its stylistic and iconographic links with the imagery of the Halil Rud civilization and the eastern Iranian Plateau in general, and, at its opposite cultural poles, with Mesopot...
